Sneak Peek Inside the How You Brewin Expansion

If you’ve visited us at How You Brewin in recent months, you may have noticed a few “tiny” changes - like, say, the brand new façade stretched across the south half of the building, or the sounds of drilling and hammering below the soothing musical stylings of John Mayer. So what’s been brewing behind the closed doors (and temporary plywood storefront) of our latest project?

For years, we’ve been splitting space with a beach boutique, ‘How to Live,’ sharing parking spaces and customers who would rarely visit one without visiting the other. We loved our next-door neighbors but we were realizing we’d need additional space to meet the needs of our growing services and fan base. When the opportunity presented itself for expansion, and with it, a chance for ‘How to Live’ to expand their Beach Haven footprint, we were excited. After 12 years in business, it was finally time for a major facelift!

Last December, we concocted the plans for an upgrade, presented them to the local board, received the necessary permits and set to work. The three dimensional architectural rendering above portrays the future of our storefront. Lush landscape, abundant patio seating and convenient bike racks are highlights of the addition. A fire pit and benches are also included in the plans to optimize outdoor seating options on particularly beautiful days (think breezy, summer evenings).

Inside, we wanted to give our staff and our customers more elbow room. Our services are quickly expanding to include cold brew production space to service our wholesale accounts, as well as an old-fashioned doorstep delivery program and rental space for events. The current construction plans will double the size of the coffee shop from 1,500 square feet to 3,000 square feet, and increase its seating from 32 to 49 - to accommodate more happy faces.

So where are we now with construction updates? What’s behind that secret plywood facade? A custom bar is in the works, as well as an area to display our shiny cold brew production equipment. The new space will even include a walk-in refrigerator, three bathrooms, a new coffee prep corner, a hallway to adjoin the two spaces, and more.

As we begin to serve more and more local shops with our wholesale cold brew and nitro, we are thrilled to complete this new space and continue to provide quality products as an established local brand!

Below, we’ve included photos of the latest updates made to our new space. For more construction news, follow us on Instagram @howyoubrewin and on Facebook @howyoubrewinlbiBe sure to look out for a grand re-opening date so you can be the first to enjoy the renovation!
