2022 Guide to Winter on Long Beach Island, New Jersey

Winter on Long Beach Island can at times seem a quiet, lonely affair. Without the throng of summer tourists and balmy beach weather, our 18-mile barrier island can feel more like a ghost town from December to Memorial Day Weekend. But as a year round business, we know better - Long Beach Island is brimming with wintertime activities.

From thrumming small businesses to historical sights, there are more than a few places to visit when you stop by in the off-season. See below for our 2022 winter guide to Long Beach Island, New Jersey.

How You Brewin Surf City

Step back in time on LBI! Visit the northernmost tip of Long Beach Island to climb the historic Barnegat Lighthouse (first lit in 1859) and take in a gorgeous, panoramic view of Barnegat Bay. Afterwards, visitors can experience the “Story of Barnegat Lighthouse '' in the park’s Interpretive Center and stroll through the Maritime Forest Trail.

Beach in New Jersey

Hit the Beach
