Coffee-Based Cocktail Ideas for Your Next Virtual Happy Hour

One of the hardest things about quarantine is having to keep our distance from friends and loved ones. Face-to-face hangouts have had to take a backseat for our health and wellness, but fortunately we live in a world where even during a pandemic, the creative juices flow. Solutions for social distancing sorrows are in abundance, and one of our favorites is the “Virtual Happy Hour” in which friends can still enjoy craft cocktails (and mocktails) together over Skype, Zoom, FaceTime, and other methods of virtual conference.

In support of these modern hang-outs, we have created a virtual happy hour series on social media to give you fresh new ideas for your next craft cocktail endeavor! Check out the drinks below.

1. Cold Fashioned

Cold brew cocktail

A traditional Old Fashioned contains muddled sugar and bitters, whiskey and a twist of citrus. For our “Cold” Fashioned, we add a splash of How You Brewin Cold Brew, 1 ounce of chocolate liquor, 1 orange slice, 2 ounces of bourbon and a cherry on top for good measure. The result is a sweet, balanced beverage that you can whip up in a jiff for your next skype call!

2. Always Sunny on LBI

cold brew cocktail

It’s always sunny on LBI when you’ve got this tropical drink in hand. This classic HYB mocktail is a boozeless, refreshing easy-to-make drink. Just shake up ¾ ounces of coconut syrup, How You Brewin nitro, and an orange slice.

3. Stay Woke

Cold brew cocktail; virtual happy hour

We recruited Ricky Decker from The Arlington in Ship Bottom to craft a coffee-based cocktail for our series. Delicious and frothy, this drink requires 2 ounces of How You Brewin Cold Brew, 2 ounces of bourbon, ½ ounces of maple syrup, 1 egg white (optional) and a dash of cinnamon.

4. The How You Brewin

Aptly named “The How You Brewin,” this delicious bevie, whipped up by the wonderful Jessica Lee from Kubel’s, is a perfect companion to your next virtual hangout. Contains: 2 ounces of vodka, a dash of simple syrup or honey, a splash of How You Brewin Classic Cold Brew, 1 ½ ounces of Kahula and a lime garnish.

5. Cold Brewtini

Calling all tequila-lovers! We had our friend Greg Anastasi, bartender extraordinaire at Daymark, whip up this Cold Brewtini: 2 ounces of How You Brewin Cold Brew, 1 ounce of vanilla or simple syrup, 1 ounce of tequila and a ½ ounce of Baileys or cream.

6. Cold Brew Cooler
