Fall Activities on Long Beach Island
LBI may be known for its summer season, but there’s something to be said for the months that follow Labor Day. Our little shore community takes on a whole new meaning in the off-season! From annual events and fundraisers, to simple, seasonal pleasures, there is so much to look forward to this fall! Keep reading to find out what we’re most excited for...
1. LBI FLY International Kite Festival
On October 8th-10th, the 7th annual, highly anticipated LBI FLY International Kite Festival will take place on Long Beach Island. Each year, participants from all over the world flock to LBI for a weekend of kite-flying! Spectators are welcome to stroll the beaches and take in all of the beautiful contraptions filling the sky.
2. ChowderMonth
Chowder connoisseurs, rejoice! Now through October 2nd, you can visit participating local restaurants, purchase their competition chowder and vote for your favorites online! Following the voting, all are welcome to a free two-day bayfront festival in Beach Haven, October 2nd-3rd. The event will feature vendors, brews, live music and ChowderMonth champion announcements!
3. 18 mile run
After a two-year hiatus, the 18 Mile Run is finally back in-person! Sunday, October 10th, runners are invited to traverse Long Beach Island in its entirety: from Holgate to Barnegat Light. Not a runner? Join us on the HYB patio in Surf City to cheer on the participants!
4. Final Beach Days
Don’t retire that swimsuit just yet! Perhaps the best part of September and October is the weather. Visitors, day-trippers and residents alike can still enjoy the warm temps and soak up the last few beach days of 2021. So grab a six pack of HYB cold brew and hit the sands while you still can!
5. HYB Specials
We may be a little bit biased, but of all the autumnal things, we’re most excited for our seasonal specials. Between our Jazzy Jack Cold Brew, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and Cornucopia Brunch Bowl, our menu is loaded with festive, limited-time-only items. Take advantage of them while they’re here and follow us on Instagram and Facebook for menu items as we progress into winter!
