Since opening in 2004, we have had the ultimate honor of serving Long Beach Island craft coffee beverages and eats. We have delighted in getting to know our vibrant community over the years and thought it was high time we share some important things about us. Did you know that we have not one, but two locations on LBI? Our main location in Surf City is steps away from the pristine beaches of our quaint, little shore town. Patrons of HYB Surf City can grab their coffees and walk straight to the beach to enjoy this crisp fall weather in the quiet off-season.
2. Proximity to Viking Village
Our original Barnegat Light location is a cozy coffee bar in Historic Viking Village, LBI’s oldest and largest commercial fishing company. Customers can enjoy coffee drinks, baked goods and gorgeous bay views as fishing vessels drift in and out of the harbor. Visit our BL location before it closes for the season (open weekends from 7am-5pm through Thanksgiving weekend).
3. Plentiful Outdoor Seating
Last year we expanded our Surf City location to include a beautiful, new patio. Chairs, tables and comfy adirondacks are in abundance along the multi-level outdoor area where customers can simultaneously enjoy the crisp fall weather while taking advantage of our free wifi.
4. Robust Food Menu
We do more than coffee. We provide baked goods, sandwiches, salads, soups, desserts and grab-and-go eats. From delicious scones to savory paninis, you can knock out all three meals at our Surf City location.
5. Free Wifi
Tired of working from home? In addition to having ample seating and power outlets, our Surf City location has free Wifi so you can relocate your home office to your favorite coffee shop. So get comfy and keep those $1 coffee refills flowing all day long!

Our staff members are dedicated to their craft. We are constantly educating ourselves on industry trends and practices so that we are serving you up to date, quality drinks. With the expansion last summer to our Surf City location, we included a mocktail bar - a sleek, roomy bar from which we sling craft, boozeless beverages that showcase delicious fruity flavors and our cold brew and nitro. While our mocktail bar closes after summer and fall seasons, customers can still use the bar seating at their leisure!
8. House Made Cold Brew
Have you tried our regular and flavored cold brews? It might interest you to know that we make our own cold brew in house. The owners of How You Brewin have worked tirelessly to perfect a cold brew recipe that is a smooth, less acidic, more highly-caffeinated version of traditional iced coffee. We make the cold brew (and nitro) in large batches, keg it and serve it straight from our taps. We even launched a wholesale program last year so that local restaurants can serve our kegged cold brew from their very own establishments.
