Around 5% of all coffee is considered peaberry, a type of coffee bean that develops when only one of the two seeds in a coffee plant are fertilized - giving the bean a more round, oval shape. Peaberry coffee beans contain a slightly higher level of caffeine, and are known for their fine strong flavor.
